Backyard Project

We had been discussing for awhile now what we were going to do for a play area for Abby when Spring/Summer came. Our backyard has pretty much been the dogs’ domain so we wanted to make a space where she can play and not worry about dog poop or them chewing up her toys. We decided to extend the railing on the deck and fence in the right side of the yard just for her. This will be a couple week project as Dustin races this weekend and next – but we got a good start on it and will post more pictures once complete. Since it has been primarily for the dogs there has been no landscaping (thanks to Ruby to polished off most of the original plants and Zoe & Gracie for finishing them off). Mom and I are very excited to be able to plant a few plants in Abby’s and hopefully get it back to looking the way it did 3 years ago when Dad, Mom and I did it.

Abby got a new sandbox, picnic table and Little Tikes play set. So far the sandbox is all that’s up but she loved it. She also has a little frog pool from last year that we will be getting back out when the weather is more consistently warmer.

Dustin did a great job on the deck railing and we’ll be finishing the additional fence hopefully this Sunday. Today was a little breezy and started to sprinkle but we pressed on to get as much done as possible before the pouring rain came later in the day. Boy I love when Spring arrives and the weather starts warming up.

  1. Dustin did do a nice job. What does the other side of the yard look like? How big is it? Chris
