Lazy 5 Ranch

Lazy 5 Ranch was having their 1st Annual Easter Eggstravaganza so we decided to trek out with the whole crew in tow. We planned it so that once we got there we’d feed the boys then drive through the park to see the animals that way we’d be back in time for the 1-5 year old Easter Egg drop. Abigail LOVED the animals and kept calling them like she does the dogs by making a kissing sound and hitting her leg for them to come here…it was hysterical! The only animal name she could really say was llama which she called lala. She had no fear at all and stuck her hands out to each and every animal that walked up. We ended up having some much animal food in the car from her missing when trying to throw it out the window.

After driving through the park we parked and went over to where they were going to have a helicopter drop the eggs in a field for the kids to find. They had a petting zoo with bunnies and pot belly pigs – Abigail wanted nothing to do with the bunny I picked up, but loved the little pig. The egg drop was mass chaos! The instructions were to have everyone stay behind the rope until all the eggs had been dropped and the helicopter had flown by, but as soon as the eggs started dropping kids started running and so it started. Trying to follow the rules we were a little slow getting to where the eggs were in the field and couldn’t find any – there were some nice people though that gave us 4 of theirs for Abby so we staged it so she could pick them up. She really didn’t care about the eggs just loved running around in the field.

After the egg drop we went back and played on the Arc playground, had some ice cream, fed the boys then traveled back home. We had a great day out and the boys were really easy to travel with…have bottle, will travel!

Davis & Jackson…2 Weeks Old Today!

The boys are doing really well so far and seem to be adapting well to their new home.  Abby has really stepped into her big sister role and several times has tried to console the boys while I’m making bottles.  She’s started to show an interest in touching their hair and especially likes to tickle their toes.  Now that they are more alert their personalities are starting to show a bit and everyday they look more and more unique.  What fun we are having watching them grow…can you tell that Grandma is enjoying every minute of it too.

An Early Easter

Abby received a package in the mail today from Auntie Chris, Uncle Jonathan and Cousin Carl. She was so excited that when I opened the box she said “WOW”. She loves the Little People sets and plays with them constantly. Every package that they send comes with a $1 bill for Abby’s banks, but THIS package was the first that came with a $1 bill for Abby, Jackson and Davis…Abby helped her brothers by putting their dollars in their banks for them. Also in the box was a jar of Chris’ homemade peach jam…yum, yum, yum as Abby said (see video below).

Fence Raising Continued

As I’ve said before our backyard has become a work-in-progress since Dustin hasn’t had many days off. We were able to get the post holes dug and the 4x4’s set in concrete on Sunday before the storm came in that afternoon. Boy will I be glad when this project is done so we won’t have to worry about the dogs chewing or destroying any of Abby’s toys.

A BIG THANKS…

We would like to thank everyone that has brought us meals for the past 2 weeks and a thanks in advance to those who are bringing them throughout the rest of this week! It has been SOOOOO nice to have one less thing to think about after keeping up with the everyday dealings of twins and an 18-month old. Dustin, Abby, Mom and I have enjoyed some really yummy food and truly have been spoiled. On Friday night, one of the ladies from the compassion team at church even brought a special cupcake for the big sister…can you tell she liked it? Had I known the end result was this I would’ve taken a before picture of the cupcake…it was so cute and even came with a plastic yellow flower ring on top. Needless to say she was stripped down and went directly in the tub. :)

First Photo Shoot

Beth came over yesterday to take a few pictures of the boys since the weather was beautiful. As usual she did an amazing job…here are 4 of them (for those who don’t know which is which, Davis is on the left and Jackson is on the right in the basket).

Our Girly-Girl Mother Hen

I’m going to throw in a side-note here because it is too hilarious to not mention. This morning when I went to get Abby up I found her completely naked in her crib in a puddle of pee. Apparently she had a grand ‘ole time un-snapping her jammies and taking off her diaper before letting me know she wanted to get up. I guess we have to stick with just zipper jammies for now…that is until she figures how to do a zipper which I have a feeling won’t be long. Any suggestions from you parents who have dealt with this before on how to get them to keep their clothes on once they’ve figured out how to take them off? Well at least I should be thankful that my life is interesting I guess. Now on to the main reason for this blog…

As I’ve said earlier in previous blogs Abby is becoming a little girly-girl with wanting to dress up and put make-up on. Yesterday I needed to buy some mascara at Clinique and Macy’s happened to be having their Clinique bonus time. It came with a larger make-up travel bag and a smaller one which I knew would be perfect for her. So I pulled out some old blush and eye shadow brushes and put them in their for her. She loved it and immediately knew what to do with the brushes. Grandma and I became her guinea pigs and she proceeded to “paint” our faces up. We have so much fun playing with her and are amazed at what she comes up with.

When we brought the boys home and started feeding them bottles we had Abby get Baby Laci (her newborn Cabbage Patch Kid) so she would feel like she had a baby too. Since then she has found her bottle and has been feeding and burping her right along with us. She’s a little rough with her but getting better at it everyday. She is just too cute and such a mother hen. She really has been helpful especially when the boys are being fed, getting pacifiers, burp cloths, the remote, my cell phone haha. Dustin calls her my little slave…but I look at it as training, not to mention it keeps her occupied while we have our hands full. My little girl is growing up…I still can’t believe she turned 18 months this past Monday.
